Kel Wu Product ManagerMy name is Kel Wu and I’m a Silicon Valley-based Product Manager. Born in Oakland, California and raised in Newark, California; my childhood was filled with an interest in technology, a trait that stemmed primarily from exposure to video games, sci-fi movies and gadgets. Sure, there was the excitement of picking up a game controller and immersing myself into another world, but my curiosity was piqued by “how” things worked.

After graduating High School, I pursued my BS in Business Marketing from San Jose State University. The location of the university made it impossible to miss all the innovation brewing here in “Silicon Valley.”

Upon graduation, I held a position in Inside Sales at an industrial distribution company, and later landed a role in Professional Services at a start-up named Digital Air Strike (formerly Response Logix). It was a brand new product to the market, and had potential to change how the Internet Auto Sales were run. While there, I held various positions in Customer Support, Integration and eventually Product Management. Through these transitions, I was able to witness and grasp the product life-cycle from concept to market.

Various projects included integrating the software with third-party CRM systems, designing the user interface for the mobile app and working directly with customers to understand their needs and issues.

Currently, I work at Spiraledge, the parent company of leading e-commerce websites for fitness products and clothing, focusing on the swimming, yoga, running and surfing industry.  My product knowledge and experience is further fueled by taking on projects involving adding new website features, wireframing and prototyping applications, API integration with software providers, and A/B testing.  I’ve also furthered my product knowledge by completing an 8 week bootcamp on Product Management at Product School and Front End Web Development at SkilledUp Academy.

This site also showcases some of my mockups, wireframes, prototypes and flowcharts I’ve created during the course of my career.  Click here to view some of my work!

Outside of Product Management, my hobbies include Muay Thai kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, snowboarding, cooking, socializing with friends and attending music festivals. A few of those hobbies can be also be viewed here:
